Nature's clash of colours

Posted by Vinman (Essex, United Kingdom) on 6 May 2009 in Plant & Nature.

Bold colours seem to overpower the gentle textures in the petals which is why I preferred the black & white version of this (posted yesterday).

See what you think.

Yes, whilst the colours are gorgeous you lose that fine scale detail somehow, I still like this but the B&W is nicer.

I too prefer the mono but this image is also beautiful, the colours to me are very soothing

@P J W Miller: Thanks Peter, I like the petals too but the green just jumps out at me, though the colours do match the actual flower. Guess that's why the real thing is only an inch across!

Moridi from Tehran, Iran

Very beautiful.
Good frame.
Thank you.

The b&w version trumps this one hands down. And that's comming from a person who is not a b&w kinda guy. Great workmanship Steve.

@Lee: Thanks for the honest appraisal Lee.

I can see why you prefer the B&W, but I think they're both strong images for different reasons!! I really love the composition. They're both beautiful!
